As I walk into the ballpark and see over 6,000 people there just to see us play I start to realize how much I am blessed. So I start to wonder, how loud will this place be if we won? How long would people stay? Would this game go into extra innings? So I thought about it this place is going to be loud, people will stay, it won’t go in to extra innings because we will run rule them. But how will this affect my life? When I go shopping will people say “hey you’re that kid from Visalia” or will they not and just walk by.
The game has started Visalia is up 3 to 0 as we head to the bottom of the 1st. The crowd roars louder and louder as the game goes on. Nearing the end of the game the fans stand on their feet as the final pitch is thrown and our hearts are pounding with excitement and the batter strikes out to end the game. As we enter the dog pile I start to think we just won the World Series! I can’t believe this. But I don’t feel special because it hasn’t hit me yet but in a couple of days I’m sure it will. Once I saw our trophies I was like this is insane because they are crystal. The championship trophy is solid crystal with a gold tint and it was heavy I mean it was like thirty pounds. I mean this is really something special to win and be the first home team to ever win it.
Celebrating on the field was special to because we signed a bunch of autographs and pictures for our fans who we didn’t even know. I had about an 8 year old girl come up to me and ask me for my autograph and it touched me because people care they don’t just read about us in the paper and be like well good job for them. No they come out to support us. For people whom I don’t know to say good job on winning the World Series to me is feeling like no other. Not only by putting a smile on my face but as well as others is special too.
Losing in the World Series when we were ten fired us up to win the next one when we were 12. And we did it and we are the champions of the 2011 World Series!
